HIS study is intended to determine re-T lations between total mineral hardness values and the water input sources of Wasco Lake, Illinois which is located in a closed watershed. This study includes the determination of the calcium and magnesium content as total hardness values for samples of the lake waters in an attempt to determine whether their mineral content value can be used as indicators of water sources for the lake. Criteria (were investigated) showing the relation of surface water runoff to ground water input into the lake during the nine weeks of weekly water sampling. The data collected, pertained to the Ca and Mg mineral content as total mineral hardness values, and water temperatures, for three different depths at four lake sites from The results secured from the collected and analyzed water samples show that Wasco Lake water contains more magnesium than calcium compounds in solution by a ratio of three to one, that water temperatures are uniform for a given time with tempera-
