We discuss the influence of a water treatment system on aquatic insect fauna in the urban artificial pond for aquatic habitats. We recorded a total of 29 species from 15 families of insects during monitoring over four years. The difference in aquatic insect fauna was not affected by the presence of the system, and the diversity index of dragonflies increased after the water treatment system was established. Additionally, chlorophyll a did not increase much and the occurrence of an alga was also restrained in summer of the third and the fourth. We estimated that this water treatment system reduced eutrophication.
