Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai formulasi gel ekstrak etanol daun jaumbu biji (Psidium guajava L.) dengan membandingkan basis HPMC dan natrium alginat dengan tujuan membuat formulasi gel dan mengetahui basis manakah yang membentuk formulasi gel dengan mutu fisik yang baik.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen, dengan menguji mutu fisik gel melalui uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, pengukuran pH, dan uji daya sebar. Hasil penelitian yaitu pada pengujian organoleptis kedua formula memiliki warna dan aroma khas dari zat aktif. Pada uji homogenitas,sediaan gel menunjukkan susunan homogen yaitu gel dengan basis Natriumalginat. Pada pengukuran pH, kedua formula gel memenuhi persyaratan pH yaitu antara 4-7. Pada pengujian daya sebar, kedua formula gel memenuhi persyaratan, yaitu antara 5-7. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa gel dengan basis Natrium alginate pada dasarnya menghasilkan gel yang memenuhi persyaratan mutu fisik dibanding basis
Gigi berlubang atau karies gigi merupakan merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis pada mulut yang tingkat kejadiannya paling tinggi. Salah satu cara yang bisa digunakan untuk mencegah karies gigi yaitu dengan menyikat gigi menggunakan pasta gigi. Tanaman Gamal (Gliricida sepium) diketahui mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus penyebab karies gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat suatu formula pasta gigi dari ekstrak etanol daun gamal (Gliricida sepium) yang stabil secara fisik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen laboratorium yaitu memformulasikan suatu sediaan pasta gigi dengan membandingkan kadar zat aktif, zat abrasif, dan zat pengikat yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula pasta gigi F1 dapat membentuk suatu sediaan pasta gigi yang stabil secara fisik.
Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica L.) is a type of coffee that is very popular with the public, usually consumed in the form of a drink by brewing coffee grounds where the content of saponins, phenols, chlorogenic acid, mangiferin and flavonoids shows the presence of antioxidant activity that is needed to fight free radicals. Coffee connoisseurs can choose coffee processing methods to obtain high antioxidants. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of Arabica coffee processed with an espresso machine and manual brew pour over V60. The design of this study was a laboratory observation study using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method. Antioxidant activity was determined by comparing the IC50 values. The results showed that the highest % inhibition of each filtrate based on espresso machine processing and manual brew pour over v60 was 73.750% and 77.632%, respectively. The IC50 values for espresso and manual brew filtrates were 324,289 ppm and 447.352 ppm, respectively. As for ascorbic acid as a comparison, the inhibition percentage was 79.585% with an IC50 value of 6.185 ppm. With this it can be concluded that the highest antioxidant activity is found in coffee filtrate processed with an espresso machine, but both coffee bean filtrates have very weak antioxidant activity because they are in the range > 200 ppm.Keywords: Antioxidant, arabica coffeeKopi arabika (Coffea arabica L.) merupakan jenis kopi yang sangat digemari masyarakat, biasanya dikonsumsi dalam bentuk minuman dengan menyeduh bubuk kopidimana kandungan senyawa saponin, fenol, asam klorogenat, mangiferin dan flavonoid menunjukan adanya aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat diperlukan untuk melawan radikal bebas. Penikmat kopi bisa memilih metode pengolahan kopi untuk memperoleh antioksidan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan kopi arabika yang diolah dengan mesin espresso dan manual brew pour over V60. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasi laboratorium menggunakan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl). Aktivitas antioksidan ditentukan dengan membandingkan nilai IC50nya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan %inhibisi tertinggi masing-masing filtrat berdasarkan pengolahan mesin espresso dan manual brew pour over v60 yaitu sebesar 73,750% dan 77,632%. Nilai IC50 filtrat espresso dan manual brew adalah 324,289 ppm dan 447,352 ppm. Sedangkan untuk asam askorbat sebagai pembanding %inhibisinya yaitu 79,585% dengan nilai IC50 6,185 ppm. Dengan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi terdapat pada filtrat kopi yang diolah dengan mesin espresso, namun kedua filtrat biji kopi tersebut memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang tergolong sangat lemah karena berada pada range >200 ppm.Kata kunci : Antioksidan, kopi arabika
The storage of drug is one of management activities toward pharmaceutical preparation in order that the quality of the drug can be ensured and avoided by Physical damage, also chemistry based on the requirement decided. This research has aim to know how the process of drug storage at the Pacongkang public health center in Liliriaja distric Soppeng regency. This research used descriptive method by using Gutman scale. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the drug storage at the Pacongkang public health center, which doesn’t meet with the requirements caused by the facilities and infrastructure of the drug storage with percentage 44,44%. Meanwhile, The drug storage which suitable with the requirement with percentage 70,00% so it can be inferred that the drug storage at Pacongkang public health center doesen’t meet with the requirements yet.
Cavities or dental caries are one of the chronic diseases of the mouth with the highest incidence rate. One way that can be used to prevent dental caries is to brush your teeth using toothpaste. The Gamal plant (Gliricidia sepium) can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that cause dental caries. So far, people in Jennae Village only use Gamal Leaves as animal feed or as a hedge. The purpose of devotion is to provide socialization about Gamal leaves which can traditionally be used as a deterrent to dental caries by pounding and then rubbing them on the teeth. The community service method is counseling the community in the Jennae Village Office Hall, Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency. The results of community service show that the people of Jennae Village have started using Gamal Leaf as a medicine to prevent dental caries based on the results of interviews with several residents through telephone lines and Whatsapp conversations, but they still use traditional methods.
