This study aims to compare the characteristics of mechanical and water vapor permeability of edible film based on low pectin methoxyl from cocoa skin with glycerol and sorbitol as plasticizer. In the research also added CaCO3 filler with the weight variation of 0; 0.2; and 0.4 gr. Pectin from cocoa peel was isolated by extraction use ammonium oxalic at a temperature of 85 o C, pH of 3.6 for 60 minutes. An edible film synthesized at a temperature of 85 o C to the agitation time of 50 minutes. 200 mesh of pectin used with the variation of glycerol and sorbitol plasticizer concentration are 1, 2 and 3% in volume. Edible films produced were dried at a temperature of 55 o C for 6 hours. The results of the study obtained in 0.2 gr CaCO3 concentration and 1% glycerol of edible films has a tensile strength of 0.3267 mpa, percent elongation of 12.84%, modulus young of 2.5441 mpa, and the water vapor permeability of 4.1676 g/m 2 .day. While in 0.4 gr CaCO3 concentration and 1% sorbitol of edible films has a tensile strength of 6.511 mpa, percent elongation of 2.419%, modulus young of 269.119 mpa, and the water vapor permeability of 5.583 g/m 2 .day. Based on percent elongation characteristics, glycerol plasticizer made higher elasticity than sorbitol plasticizer. While the addition of filler able to increase tensile strength two times larger than without filler.

A remarkable school – B (SLB) YRTRW Surakarta is a spesial school for children with special school for children with special needs to help provide education. According to a survey of SLB-B YRTRW Surakarta, it is difficult for students to get the names of objects right anf there are still mistakes, and it is also difficult for students to play because the learing methods are less interesting and therefore not focus on the material presented by teachers. An alternative or solution is to provide the learning media in the form of applications. The appication is called BELMA (together learning) abaout the introduction of transportation tools, Musical Instruments, and objects in the school environment for fourth-grade elementary school students. The founding of the media of education is a method for observation, analysis or problem identification,  and interviews. The result of research based on questionnaires are 87.871%, and this application can thus help the learning process. The purpose of this study is to be expected to help both tearchers and students in the learning process in class so that students can be quick to understand and enthusiastic about material delivery.

Tema pengabdian yang diambil adalah pencegahan penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) dengan memanfaatkan botol bekas dan ragi. Desa Kertosari dikelilingi hutan jati. Dengan kondisi banyak hutan maka sangat memungkinkan berkembangnya nyamuk yang dapat menyebarkan penyakit salah satunya adalah DBD. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini meliputi: 1) menjelaskan bahaya penyakit demam berdarah, 2) cara melakukan pencegahan penyebaran nyamuk penyebab DBD, 3) menjelaskan kepada masyarakat cara memanfaatkan botol bekas sebagai media penghambat perkembangan nyamuk. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan yang bertujuan mengedukasi perilaku hidup sehat supaya terhindar dari penyakit yang disebabkan nyamuk. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dapat berjalan dengan baik dan lancar sesuai dengan rencana kegiatan yang telah disusun. Masyarakat desa Kertosari dapat memanfaatkan pengetahuan tentang DBD untuk pengentasan peningkatan penderita DBD di keluarga dan lingkungannya melalui pola perilaku pencegahan penyebaran nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan memanfaatkan botol bekas dengan gula jawa dan ragi sebagai wadah atraktan untuk perangkap nyamuk.
