Woman menopause in hypertension is often associated with increase vascularity and physiological changes during menopause. This study aims to examine the effect of celery leaf stew on blood pressure levels in menopausal woman in hypertension. This study was a quasy experiment with pretest-posttest control group design, conducted in the Sidodadi Village District Beringin, Deli Serdang on Januari to March 2020. There were 28 participants selected using purposive sampling, with 14 assigned in the experimental and control group. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and unpaired t-test. There were statistically significance difference of blood pressure levels before and after intervention in the experiment group with p value sitolic level 0.000 dan diastolic level 0.001 (<0.05). Celery leaf stew has a significant effect in reducing blood pressure level in menopausal woman in hypertension. This intervention could be applied as an alternative theraphy in treating menopausal woman in hypertension.
There is now a growing tendency among Indonesian people to introduce English to children starting from the early age, through either formal or informal education. This can be seen from the mushrooming of bilingual and international schools where English is used as the language of instruction as well as the increasing number of English courses aimed especially for children. Sometimes people hold a misconception regarding teaching English for young learners, in which they believe that the earlier the kids learn a foreign language, the better it will be. As a matter of fact, this assumption is not completely true. Only when handled with care will the teaching of foreign language to young learners succeed as expected? Otherwise, this will not gain a significant effect on children’s language development. This paper will elaborate some principles on how young learners learn a foreign language, which should be the foundation of the way the teaching English to young learners is conducted. Some theories on how children learn will be drawn on, followed by a discussion on the pedagogical implications. This paper is expected to give insights to English teachers in general and teachers of English for young learners in particular, about the importance of taking into account the aspects related to the way young learners learn in designing their teaching learning process.
In general, the original Islamic boarding School was always characterized by the standardization of classical Islamic books into a textbook that compulsory community known as the Yellow Book. The use of technology multimedia of the yellow book was important to following technological developments. The teaching of classical Islamic books is given to forward the purpose of Islamic boarding school to educate the candidate of an Islamic leader. Yellow Book is one of the important factors that characterize the sub-culture of schools, meaning that as a guideline for the ordinances of religion. Besides, the yellow book by the schools functioned also as a universal reference value in addressing the challenges of life, when the yellow book, used the permanent generations. The existence of the yellow book in the system uniquely Islamic boarding school in Indonesia can be seen from the characteristics of religious developed that includes aspects of theology with Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-jama'ah concept, Shari'ah/fiqh aspect with Syafi'i law, and aspects of Sufism.
EFL is a foreign language abbreviation for English. This is mainly used to talk about students (whose first language is not English) learning English while living in their own country. In the EFL classroom , the teacher usually switches the code to make students understand what the teacher is saying. The aim of this article is to present the use and functions of code switching in the classroom of the EFL. The subject of this study was English for a nursing class with 30 students and an English lecturer at Sultan Agung University Semarang. The activity was recorded in this EFL classroom for about 90 minutes and the code switching functions were analyzed on the basis of Hyme's (1962) framework. The study suggests that the use of code switching and mother tongue would facilitate the learning of foreign languages. Mother tongue could therefore be an important and useful element to help learners learn a foreign language during the learning process.
