The paper revolves around the subject regarding quality of service (QoS) in a telecommunication network. The chosen scenario is based on the transmission of data and voice packets using a WAN connection, which has a limited bandwidth and emphasize the need of implementing QoS mechanisms in order to fulfill the quality requirements of the traffic, especially for VoIP. This topology will outline the impact and importance of the QoS implementation, illustrated by the desired quality resulted through VoIP traffic simultaneously with maintaining the data conectivity using a lower bandwidth for applications which require a smaller amount of QoS properties, such as FTP.
