Results: 37 patients were operated on during this period of time. (25 women), between 17 and 82 years old (average 54 years). The most frequent histological types were Sarcoidosis (10 cases), lung cancer (8 cases), lymph node metastasis (4 cases) and Hodking lymphoma and tuberculosis (3 cases). conclusions: Mediastinoscopy was performed more frequently in women in this series. If we take into account the 2 most frequent pathologies found (sarcoidosis and lung cancer), the first occurs in women between 30-40 years, and the second, in men over 50 years. There was no morbidity and mortality associated with the procedure.
Introduction: Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is an autoimmune neuromuscular disease characterized by muscle weakness and fatigue. The thymectomy is a surgical technique that allows to achieve a better control of the symptoms caused by this pathology. The objective of this work is to show the experience of this surgical team with this operative modality. Materials and Methods: Observational, descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study. All patients surgically treated by the same surgical team were included in the period from February 2014 to February 2019. Demographic characteristics of the series, histopathological results and morbidity and mortality of the series are described.
