This research was conducted to increase production of eggplants through combination of N-source and number of main branch has done on the field of andosol in Poncokusumo -Malang, 600 m asl, pH 5.4, from August to December 2013. The experiment used a Randomized Complete Block Design with 2 factors and 3 replications. Factor 1 was proportion of inorganic -organic N fertilizer (138 kg N ha -1 ): 100% Urea, 75% Urea + 25% goat manure, 50% Urea + 50% goat manure, and 25% Urea + 75% goat manure. Factor 2 was number of main branches: 1, 2 and 3 main branches. Results showed that there was no interaction effect between treatment combinations of organic-inorganic sources of N and the number of main branches to all observed variables. Treatment using the combination of 75% Urea + 25% goat manure increased the plant growth and gave the highest fruit yield (49.20 t ha -1 ) in comparison with combination using other fertilizers and 100% Urea. The lowest was derived from the application of 100% Urea, 35.61 t ha -1. Cultivation of eggplant with 3 main branches has resulted better growth and fruit yield than 1 and 2 main branches, 50.85, 47.91 and 30.79 t ha -1 , respectively.
A research to reduce application of N inorganic fertilizer through combination of inorganic-organic N and EM4 on eggplant has done on paddy field in Poncokusumo, Malang Regency, East Java, from June to September 2013. The experiment used a randomized complete block design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the combination of inorganic-organic N fertilizer, ie. 100% urea, 75% urea + 25% goat manure, 50% urea + 50% goat manure, and 25% urea + 75% goat manure . The second factor was dose of EM4, ie. 10, 20, and 30 liters EM4 ha -1 . The results showed a reduction in the proportion of urea up to 50% and replace it with goat manure resulted growth and fruit yield of eggplant better than the others. The application of 100% urea gave the lowest fruit yield. Application of EM4 on eggplant enhanced growth and increased fruit yield. EM4 application with doses of 30 liters ha -1 resulted the highest fruit yield, accelerate the decomposition and mineralization of N.
The objective of research was to obtain the treatmenttime of CaCl2 applications, dosage of CaCl2 and ethephonapplications to improve the fruit quality of pineapple. Thisresearch used Split-Split Plot Design and each treatmentreplicated 3times. The main plot is time ofCaCl2 applicationsthat consists of three levels, those are 90 day after flowering(daf), 120 daf and twice of CaCl2 applications at 90 and 120daf The sub plot is dosage of CaCl2 that consists of threelevels, those are 50 kg ha', 75 kg ha' and 100 kg ha', The subsub plot is dosage of ethephon that consists of two levels, those areO L ha' and 2,5 L ha', The results showed that thecombined treatment ofCaCl2 application on 90 daf, dosage ofCaCl250 kg ha' and dosage of ethephon 2.5 L ha' producedistribution external fruit maturity level of 25% and 50%higher than the other treatments. Combined treatment twiceof CaCl2 application on 90 and 120 daf with dosage of CaCl2100 kg ha' produces calcium content higher than the othertreatment and produce fruit texture, percentage of fruitdiseases and percentage of fruit bruised lower than othertreatments. Ethephon application had noeffect on calciumcontent but decreasing fruit texture, percentage of fruitdiseases and improved percentage offruit bruised. CaCl2 andethephonapplications didnot affect the total soluble solid, total acidity and vitamin C. .Keywords: CaCl2, ethephon, pineapple, fruit quality.
Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) has a great sale value, beside its delicious flavor; it also contains variety of nutrients such as Vitamins B, C, E and Iron that are beneficial for human health. The main problems in improving the local durian is limited availability of quality seeds. Durian development undertaken by local farmers generally from generative, thereby causing the vegetative phase takes longer (about 7-10 years) and make generative phase come later. It is one of the obstacles in the productivity and quality of durian. It is one of the obstacles in the productivity and quality of durian. But with advances in technology, these obstacles can be overcome by using a mini-graft method to produce superior durian seedling. The purposes of this research are to get the right age and precentage of shade on grafted durian seedling and to determine the influence on growth and yield of grafted plants. This research conducted on january – oktober 2016 on Durio Kingdom Farm, Ngantang, Malang Regency on 660 asl. The experiment was conducted using split plot design. The main plot is percentage shade (N): shade 0%, shade 40%, shade 60% and shade 80%, while the subplots are seedlings (A) is 15 weeks age rootstock, 17 weeks age rootstock and 19 weeks age rootstock. The results of this study showed that 17 weeks Age seeds give better results, shade are gives better results for use in plant nurseries durian is shade with a density of 40%.
