Various research on logistics has been conducted to examine Logistics Service Provider (LSP) firm performances in many angles. This is important since logistics service has become an important industry globally and the trend also absorb in Malaysia`s commercial market. Growing in innovation trend was also effected logistics when demand on green logistics take place in international stages on awareness over environmental issues. In line with this development, halal-value creation concept also emerges and constructively contribute to the sustainability of the industry. Therefore, there is a discrepancy in the study of business models, particularly on the firm performance that have not yet been tested in the role of halal and green logistics as a catalyst for marketing strategies that can benefit a company. Thus, this concept paper will conduct an effort and check previous literature related to business performance to see the direct relationship on halal and green logistics as independent variable toward firm`s performance. Through this conceptual study, halal-green logistics will be dedicating as element of sustainability marketing in firm`s performance; which environmental and contamination issues will be highlights and address accordingly. This study will propose Resource-based View Theory as underpinning theory to prove inclination of relationship between variables. Finally, the paper will provide Halal-Logistics Value Chain conceptual framework as initiative to facilitate the global community of researchers and practitioners in understanding the diversity, meaning, and evolution of the halal-green logistics phenomenon in the context of emerging economies, also as improving firm performance.
This article offers a new strategy of holistic rural development by utilizing the external strengths of the rural and the internal strength based on the experience of one of the rural in Indonesia that has been succeeded in turning the rural from the poorest into the best in the national rank. The successful formula is associated with the role of village leaders in benefiting opportunities from the existing external-internal aspects. To capture more holistic development phenomena including political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal phenomena while generating new bottom-up strategies, the study uses PESTEL and SOAR analysis. This study found that the first condition for rural development in Indonesia is the development of village leadership management strength in holistically managing the potential and opportunities of external and internal villages. It changes the fundamental paradigm that holistic rural development must be seen as a whole (the village can take advantage of the existing external-internal strengths) partially (the village only focuses on utilizing the village's internal strength utilization agricultural potential). Through the PESTELs-SOAR analysis approach, the strategy offered becomes more rational and comprehensive in sustainable rural development by collaborating the village bottom-up strategy approach while still considering prevailing external conditions (more top-down).
Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is gaining wide acceptance by many state’s governments in Malaysia due to its potential to create a liveable neighbourhood with enhanced mobility. Therefore, this study aims to assess the impact of TOD on the residents’ quality of life in Malaysia northern states. The data for this study were gathered from a survey on 360 residents who used the Northern KTM commuter train service. Descriptive and inferential statistics including chi-square test and PLS-SEM technique was performed to analyse the data and produce the findings. The findings of this study shown that there were significant differences in travel behaviour patterns (companions, frequencies, and walking durations) with respect to respondents’ travel purposes. Moreover, it was revealed that land-use diversity and walkable design as important TOD principles that contribute to their quality of life. The findings of this research would serve as a base but critical information to direct future National Estate Development Plan.

Although numerous studies have been done, specifically research on social entrepreneurship orientation not yet been tested over firm performance especially company with social mission objective. Therefore, this concept paper will focus and check on direct relationship on social entrepreneurship orientation as independent variable toward firm`s performance. Furthermore, this paper focuses on reviewing the social entrepreneurship performances especially in Malaysia. This study is important since the social entrepreneurship continue to grow blossomly for future country economy development as per stated by join partnership report by British Council, Yayasan Hasanah, United Nation ESCAP and Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development in “The State Of Social Enterprise In Malaysia”. To have an impact of the result, this study will implement Theory of Structural Contingency since it was widely used in previous research especially to test the ‘fit’ factors between variables. This conceptual paper able to develop understanding on diversity, meaning, and evolution of the social entrepreneurship phenomenon in the context of emerging economies; including to facilitate the community of social entrepreneurship researchers and practitioners respectively. It also can advance research in this domain with the aid of the proposed framework and the research questions proposed for future research.
