Dimedon (Ia) reagiert über das Tosylhydrazon (Ib) zum Dimethylcyclohexenon (II), das zum 3,3‐Dimethyl‐cyclohexanon (III) hydriert wird.

Die Titelverbindung (II), die aus dem Acetylen (I) und Tri‐n‐butylstannan (Ausbeute 94%) und anschließender Umsetzung mit n‐Butyl‐Li bei ‐78°C in THF dargestellt wird, reagiert mit Carbonylverbindungen wie z.B. (III) über die Allylalkohole (IV) zu den ungesättigten Aldehyden (V).
