Residential network is the interconnection and communication of various audio/visual networks, home automation and control networks, computer networks and wireless networks at home. These several networks are connected to the residential gateway and connected to the internet with the high-speed internet connection. So real-time multimedia voice and video traffic flow is converged at the gateway. Due to the integrated nature of home network it has been realized that it is necessary to integrate different QoS mechanisms to improve the quality of service to residential users. Hence in this paper we propose to implement wireless QoS and IP QoS to improve the service quality of real-time multimedia traffic by combining Hybrid Co-ordination Function (HCF) with two scheduling algorithms, Low Latency Queuing(LLQ) and Custom Queuing(CQ) for real-time traffic in home network.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
