The integrated value chain is a prerequisite for the successful industrialization of the agricultural sector. Contract farming (CF) is a useful instrument to integrate the agricultural value chain in developing countries such as Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of farmer participation in sugarcane contract farming. The data utilized in this study was obtained from the Indonesian Plantation Farm Household Survey 2014 for Sugarcane. The data consists of 8.831 farmers distributed in 8 provinces. Logistic regression was used to estimate the determinants of farmer participation in sugarcane CF. The result shows that age, education, and type of cultivated land negatively affect farmer participation in sugarcane CF. Meanwhile, land tenure, cultivation area, cropping system, certified seed, membership in a cooperative, access to extension services, and membership in farmer's association positively affect farmer participation in sugarcane CF. The policy implication for increasing farmer participation in CF is to intensify the information of CF to the farmer with a large cultivation area. Since these farmers tend to participate in CF to anticipate marketing risks.

Pariwisata adalah kebutuhan manusia. Pariwisata membuka peluang bagi pemerintah daerah dan masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan sumberdaya alam dan kekayaan budaya sebagai sajian wisata. Desa Gadingan di Kabupaten Situbondo memiliki potensi sumberdaya alam dan budaya yang dapat dikembangkan sebagai desa wisata. Potensi tersebut didukung oleh aksesibilitas dan obyek wisata lain yang ada di sekitas desa Gadingan. Masalah yang teridentifikasi yaitu rendahnya kapabilitas masyarakat dalam identifikasi potensi, perencanaan, dan pengelolaan desa wisata. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah mengembangkan kemampuan manajerial sumberdaya manusia desa Gadingan dalam pengidentifikasian dan perencanaan potensi serta pengelolaan desa wisata. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan bagi masyarakat penggerak desa wisata. Hasil analisa potensi wisata dengan metode FGD yaitu pantai Gadingan sebagai wisata utama, pemilihan pasar ikan Jangkar, embung Gadingan, dan pelabuhan syahbandar sebagai wisata pelengkap, serta Sholawat Nariyah sebagai wisata penunjang.

<p>Kopi arabika merupakan produk global, dan kopi arabika Simalungun mampu bersaing di dunia internasional. Keberlanjutan usaha kopi arabika tergantung pada petani muda wirausaha. Petani muda sebagai aset bangsa perlu mendapat perhatian agar usahanya mampu bersaing di era global. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis data primer. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah FGD sebanyak 2 kali masing-masing diikuti 15 orang petani muda kopi dan wawancara mendalam dengan teknik snow ball terhadap 11 orang petani muda kopi. Subyek penelitian adalah petani muda kopi yang terlibat dalam usaha kopi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: strategi pemberdayaan petani muda kopi wirausaha memerlukan dua komponen, yaitu faktor penggerak dan pelancar. Faktor penggerak meliputi: perubahan sistem ekonomi non pasar menjadi pasar, perubahan sistem patron klien menjadi pasar; membuka akses alat pengolahan kopi, membentuk citra petani muda sebagai agen yang aktif dan kritis, menempatkan petani muda kopi sebagai subyek yang dinamis dalam membangun karakter kepemimpinan dan kewirausahaan. Faktor pelancar meliputi: membangun kolektifitas, mengorganisir petani muda kopi dengan memperkuat modal sosial, melindungi basis sumberdaya air dan lahan dengan menerapkan good agricultural practices (GAP), diversifikasi mata pencaharian, membuka akses pasar, penyuluhan dan pendampingan usaha kopi berbasis informasi dan teknologi. Dalam era pasar bebas (MEA), diperlukan reposisi petani muda kopi dari petani produsen menjadi petani pemasok.</p>

The existence of digital technology today that has become a mandatory tool that is easy to use for good or bad with a wide and unlimited reach is social media. Penglipuran Tourism Village as one of the leading tourist villages in Bali is still not maximal in utilizing social media, especially the simplest Instagram. Certified Internship Program managed by Pigijo and Kemendikbudristek is expected to increase the digitization of tourist villages that are partners. Penglipuran became one of the partners assigned to the group of 2 vanguard pigijo tourist village to digitize and produce external in the form of digital content and tour packages. The result of this activity or program is able to produce digital content, share the science of digitalization to the relevant villages, so that the management of social media penglipuran tourism village becomes better and has an impact on the economy of the local community by attracting the attention of social media users to visit Penglipuran.

Agricultural extension plays a crucial role in the Indonesian Agricultural Revitalization Program for the 2005-2025 periods, where sugarcane is one of the fourteen priority crops. The provision of an agricultural extension was aimed to increase the income and productivity of sugarcane farmers. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of agricultural extension access on smallholder sugarcane farmers' performance in Indonesia. This study used data from the 2014 Indonesian Sugarcane Farm Household Survey, consisting of 8,831 farmers. This study employed propensity score matching to estimate the effect of access to an agricultural extension on several outcome variables. These variables were gross value-added (GVA), net value added (NVA), labor productivity (LP), land productivity (LDP), net income (NI), and remuneration of family labor (ROFL). The result shows that having access to an agricultural extension increases GVA by 40.5%, NVA by 40.3%, labor productivity by 42.8%, and NI by 40.2%. However, access to agricultural extension insignificantly affects ROFL due to the differences in family working units. Also, farmers with Agricultural Extension access have 13.7% lower land productivity than non-Agricultural Extension farmers since the former has lower input use intensity than the latter. These results suggest that providing agricultural extension service is adequate to improve sugarcane farmers' economic performance.
