The autoignition temperature and ignition delay times for hydrogen-air mix tures and methane-air mixtures as a function of concentration were measured in the Bureau of Mines 1.2-L ignitability furnace. The data shows that the minimum autoignition temperature (MAIT) values obtained for hydrogen-air and methane-air mixtures are in excellent agreement with previously reported AIT values of other researchers. There is also good agreement in the gas con centrations at which the minimum AITs occurred.
Dust concentration measurement probe using beta attenuation Rev.An optical probe was developed to measure dust cloud concentration during the propagation of dust flames or explosions. Principal features of the probe are a miniature light-emitting diode and photosensor in aU-shaped configuration and air jets to keep the windows of the device dust free.
A compact fiber optic laser probe to monitor surface vibration displacements An improved optical probe was developed to monitor dust-cloud concentra.tion in explosions ~ven in the presence of dust flame radiation. Principal features of the probe mclude a p~ls~d hghtemitting diode and a photodetector with optical interference ?lter to reduce flame ra~lat\On. The probe has a V-shaped configuration and air jets to keep the wmdows dust free. Expenmental data are presented for a coal dust explosion.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
