Integrated biological wastewater reactor by a combination of air-lift device and cellular filler reactor was utilized to treat sewage on campus. The experimental results suggest that by vaccinating with an indirect and fast way, COD in effluent water could achieve 32mg/L after 7 days with the removal rates of 63.6%, representing the start-up of reactor. When the air-to-liquid ratio was 16.8:1,the hydraulic load of filler was 4.8m 3 / (m 3 ·d),the optimized operation could be achieved and the average COD and NH 3 -N removal rates were 80.1% and 58%.The average COD removal increased from 81% to 93.1% with the increasing of influent COD load from 130mg/L increased to 500-600 mg/L. When the filer completely submerged in water, the system still had good resistance to impact load even if the system was influenced by external shocks.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
