The self-diffusion coefficient (D) of silver ions in silver iodide has been measured between 200 °C and 500 °C. The results can be described by the Arrhenius equation
D = 16.62 x 10-5 exp (-2190/RT),
where R is the gas constant in cal/mode, °K and T the temperature in °K. The standard deviation was 0.12 cm2/s.
The results coincide with Tubandt et al.1, whto investigated a small temperature interval around 200 °C.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
