Vegetation monitoring is a task that requires much time and human effort, but by using an unmanned aerial vehicle with a system that can store captured data digitally, the task can be more manageable and efficient. Past research has shown many formulas were developed by researchers to capture vegetation data in varying conditions and equipment. This paper discusses an experiment conducted to test three of those formulas using visible band data images. The formulas are the visible atmospherically resistant index, the green leaf index, and the visible atmospherically resistant indices green. The objective of this paper is to report and discuss our findings from experiments conducted using each formula as well as to compare the accuracy of these formulas.
Computers and educational multimedia courseware have the potential in helping dyslexic children in education and self development. There are still not many educational multimedia courseware, games and web sites that were designed specifically for those with learning difficulties. We conducted a preliminary research that collected information on how these children feel and react when they interacting with educational multimedia courseware. This paper reports the problems faced by these children and intended as a step to understand the difficulties children with dyslexia experienced while using educational multimedia courseware.
Remote sensing using drone or UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) is the current trends and this technology can provide unrevealed life-altering benefits to mankind. Drones are being used in many sectors such as for military, research, agricultural and recreational means. This technology not only can reduce the time of inspection, but it is also giving many benefits such as provides real-time live video for site inspection that can help user to analyze site logistic and speeding up the overall tasks. However, vegetation monitoring using remote sensing has its own challenges in terms of processing the captured image and data. Somehow, previous research has suggested a lot of different possible algorithm that could be used for post-processing the data gathered. Nevertheless, most of the algorithm requires a specific sensor in order to get the result. The objective of this paper is to identify and verify the algorithm that is suitable to process the vegetation image. This research will use the data gathered from various area by using consumer camera and process by using Visible Atmospherically Resistant Index (VARI) indices. Finally, this research will observe the accuracy of the result analyzed using the VARI and identify the characteristic of the algorithm.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
