In modern industrial processes, effective performance monitoring and quality prediction are the key to ensure plant safety and enhance product quality. The research significance and background of process monitoring and fault diagnosis technologies are described and the current advances in data-based process monitoring methods are summed up in this paper. Then the multivariate statistical process control (MSPC) methods for process with single constraint, especially for single non-Gaussian process or nonlinear process are elaborated. As real industrial process data often show strong non-Gaussian and dynamic behaviors, study on monitoring technologies for dynamic non-Gaussian process is of great importance. Finally, some challenges such as non-Gaussian and dynamic process, fault detection and diagnosis as well as new MSPC methods are indicated.
Wire tension as well as wire feed should be controlled tightly for the geometry and corner accuracy of wire-EDM. A closed-loop wire tension control system for Micro-Wire-EDM is presented to guarantee a smooth wire transport and a constant tension value. To keep smooth wire transportation and avoid wire breakage during wire feeding, the reel roller is modified and the clip reel is removed from the wire transport mechanism. A genetic algorithm-based fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is proposed to investigate the dynamic performance of the closed-loop wire tension control system. Theoretical analysis and experimental research demonstrate that the developed wire transport system can result in satisfactory transient response, steady-state response and robustness. The proposed FLC can obtain faster transient response and smaller steady-state error than PI controller.
The course teaching pattern reform is conducted in order to solve the problems existing in the teaching progress of principles and applications of transducer course for measurement & control technology and instrument specialty. According to the teaching idea of CDIO, the project item teaching method is introduced in course teaching. Theoretical and practical teaching schemes are designed and the teaching process and evaluation mode are optimized then. After the exploratory research of theory and practice teaching, a set of course teaching system for principles and applications of transducer course is formed based on the concept of CDIO. Curriculum reformation combines classical measure theory with modern test technology properly as well as considers its theory and application, remarkable teaching effect is obtained then. It provides a new teaching method suitable for principles and applications of transducer course.
