This study aimed at identifying (1) The social skills. (2) The ways of the lecturer’s social skills in teaching speaking. This research employed a descriptive qualitative research design. The instrument of this study involved interview, passive participant observation, and documentation. The subject of this research is the lecturer who teaches speaking and the fourth year students at undergraduate English language teaching students in Universitas Sulawesi Barat. The result of this study showed that there were eighteen social skills that lecturer integrated in teaching speaking both in verbal and nonverbal communication, namely; integrity, diligence, courage, responsibility, religiosity, discipline, creative thinking, curiosity, hard working, self-reliance, problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, self confidence, decision making, collaborative working/cooperative, respect, and, caring. The ways of lecturer social skills integration in teaching speaking is by verbal and nonverbal communication. In verbal communication are by saying greeting when entering the class, praying before starting and ending the class, taking the register, giving advice to motivate students to study, calling on students by name when talking to them, responding to students reasons for being late, giving feedback to students, asking students to tell their most impressive learning English experience, inserting humor in teaching, telling students his personal experience, allowing students to have individual group consultation, allowing students to call him by his first name, asking students how they feel about their lesson and assignment given, and, using terms like “we” and “us” to refer to the class. Meanwhile, in nonverbal communication are by starting and ending the lesson on time, being enthusiastic in teaching, looking at the class while teaching, looking at the class while teaching, using gesture while talking to the class, using vocal variety, smiling at class while talking, dressing neatly, having a relaxed body posture while talking to the class, having eye contact when calling on a students’ name, nodding along students’ responses, coming closer to the students when lecturing, walking from back to the front and side-to-side between rows when teaching (moving around the class when teaching), looking very little at board or notes while talking to the class, and shaking hands with students. This study aims to analyze the effect of Quality of Work Life and Employee Engagement on Organizational Commitment. With employees at Anita Phoneshop Baturaja which is used as a case study. Primary and secondary data were used in this study. Secondary data were obtained from various sources such as journals, books and other related publications. Primary data was obtained by using a questionnaire distributed to respondents who were targeted. By using the slovin technique, the total sample obtained was 53 respondents. Multiple linear regression analysis method with SPSS 26 program was used to analyze the data. The results showed that Quality of Work Life and Employee Engagement had a positive and significant impact on Organizational Commitment, contributing 70.1% with the variable Quality of Work Life having a more dominant influence. This shows that the company should focus on maintaining and improving the organizational work climate technically and humanely in order to lead to a better quality of work life.
The YouTube application is one of the many social media that is often used by the public, both adults and children. The rise of YouTube applications for children is one of the problems in the world of education. Along with the increasingly rapid development of the times, of course this will have an impact on the development of children if parents continue to provide YouTube applications. This study aims to determine the impact of the YouTube application on children's cognitive development. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects in this study were six children aged 4-6 years and their parents (housewives). The object of research is the impact of the YouTube application on children's cognitive development. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman analysis which is carried out interactively and takes place continuously. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: the impact of the YouTube application on the cognitive development of the 6 children is, being able to recognize the letters of the alphabet, hijaiyah letters, recognizing colors, recognizing numbers and being able to count, being able to memorize, easy to imitate, learning through songs, recognizing large and small objects, and group images.
The study aims to determine the ability to use English Articles by ABA UMI students and classify the types of difficulties in using English Articles by ABA UMI students. The study was conducted at ABA UMI using Google Form with a sample of 35 students. Data collection techniques through Interviews and essay tests were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that the average number of students' correct answers from 20 questions was 12,1 questions or 60,71%. The average value obtained is 60,57. The Classification of students' abilities is in the "Good" category. The greatest difficulty of ABA students is in using article A, an average of 19,7/20 students (56,29%) answered correctly, and 15,3/15 students (43,71%) answered incorrectly from 6 questions related to article A. Most of the students answered article An for article A. On average, 23,7/24 students (67,71%) answered correctly, and 11,3/11 students (32,29%) answered incorrectly out of 7 questions in Article An. Students still have difficulty using articles A, An, and The. On average, 20 students (57,14%) gave correct answers, and 15 students (42,86%) answered incorrectly out of 7 questions for the article The. It can be concluded that the average ABA students are still quite difficult (39,62%) in understanding and using articles A, An and The.
