RBSTRRCTThis research investigates the application of an objectoriented (00), knowledge-base system to the management of the heart rehabilitation patient. The 00 model parallels the typical departmental hospital organization. The extensive knowledge base satisfies daily requirements while supporting epidemiological studies. A rule-based application monitors patient risk category and a planning model is provided to satisfy the goals of the bur-phase rehabilitation program. The system is implemented on an IBM PS-2 (Model 80) using Xerox's ANALYST and HUMBLE development tools.
