The width of residual bone was one of the clinical host factors that affected bone regeneration following BMP implantation. However, it did not affect connective tissue attachment, cementum regeneration, and downgrowth of junctional epithelium.
Transplantation of tissue-cultured teeth decreased epithelial downgrowth and increased connective tissue attachment on the root-planed surface. Furthermore, EMD could remarkably increase the new connective tissue attachment in this periodontal regenerative technique.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
