Variation in the refractive index in polymethyl methacrylate and lithium fluoride under quasi-entropic loading was studied experimentally. The values of the refractive index and the correction coefficient in the formula for the mass velocity were determined. The results obtained for quasi-entropic loading are compared with available data for shock-wave compression of the materials studied.Key words: refractive index, quasi-entropic compression, shock wave, Fabry-Perot laser Doppler interferometer, lithium fluoride single crystal, polymethyl methacrylate.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
