Reaction of 4-(N,N-Dimethylaminophenyl)magnesium Bromide with PalladiumTetrakis(triphenylphosphine). -The palladium-catalyzed cross coupling reaction of bromobenzonitrile (I) with dimethylaminophenylmagnesium bromide (II) is studied in detail concerning the influence of reaction conditions on the ratio of cross coupling (IV) to C≡N addition product (III). Various reaction conditions are studied, including temperature, catalyst concentration, order of reagent addition, precomplexation and overall reaction times, and the optimal reaction conditions for the formation of adduct (III) or cross coupling product (IV) are presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
