Synthesis and Biological Activity of Substituted 3-Acylmethyleneand 3-Hydroxy-2-indolones.-The title compounds (III) and (V), resp., prepared by literature methods, are tested for their antimicrobial and antitumor activity. Only derivatives (IIIc), (Va), and (Vc) show antitumor activity while antimicrobial activity is observed for all derivatives depending on the substitution pattern. The best results are obtained for (IIIa) and (IIIb). -(KOZ'MINYKH, E. N.; BEREZINA, E. S.; KOLLA, V. E.; SHELENKOVA, S. A.; VORONINA, E. V.; KOZ'MINYKH, V. O.; Khim.-Farm.
