Leptospirosis is a common worldwide zoonotic infection, is an important livestock problem throughout Ukraine. The peculiarities of leptospirosis are the presence of more than 250 serological groups of the pathogen, which significantly influences the choice of strategy for prevention and control of this disease. The article presents data on the epizootic situation, the epizootological features of leptospirosis and the etiological structure of leptospiras in cattle in Vinnitsa region (1994-2015) and, in particular, in the farms of the Khmelnitsky district (2006-2012). The epizootic situation with leptospirosis of cattle in Vinnitsa region and the farms of Khmelnytsky district is characterized by certain fluctuations in the number of infections points and sick animals, with relative stability. Tottaly 247 cattle farms infections of leptospirosis were identified in the region during 21 years. The materials for the research were the data of veterinary records and reports of farms and state veterinary medicine establishments of Vinnitsa region, the results of laboratory tests of blood serum from cattle from suspicious farms, the results of the analysis of health and preventive measures in suspicious farms. The main leptospira serogroups that affect cattle in Vinnytsa region and directly in the Khmelnitsky region were Hebdomadis, Sejroe, Icterohaemorrhagiae, Grippotyphosa, Pomona, registered from 43 to 86.3% of mixed reactions. In Khmelnytsky district in 2006-2012, 7 infected farms were registered, 739 animals got sick. It was established that the epizootic situation in the farms depended on the observance of preventive and sanitary measures and the timely introduction of recovery plans. It has been proved that the integrated use of veterinary, sanitary and economic measures is an effective means of eliminating and preventing cattle leptospirosis in livestock farms. The complex of measures should include timely serological analisis of cattle on leptospirosis, adherence to quarantine during importation of animals to the herd, sanitary and preventive measures of exploitation of animals, vaccination of cattle against leptospirosis, taking into account the etiological structure of the disease. Key words: leptospira, leptospirosis, cattle, microscopic agglutination test (MAT), leptospira serological groups, epizootic situation.
Ozone enters into chemical reaction with many organic compounds. Ozone is a very strong oxidant. It oxidizes most of the elements to higher oxides. In the oxidation reaction by ozone activity second only to fluorine, its oxide and free radicals. It is formed from oxygen by absorbing heat in this case, and, conversely, when the expansion goes into oxygen, giving off heat. The main method of obtaining ozone for practical purposes is electrosynthesis. In industrial conditions for using ozone and corona discharge barrier. Ozonizers corona discharge can significantly increase the efficiency of ozone by reducing capital and operating costs for the process equipment and ozonation. Research shows that ozone air ozonator pulsed mode increases the resistance of animals to the action of microorganisms factor. In animals and poultry in industrial production often develop diseases caused by pathogens factor. These diseases mainly occurring symptom of lesions of the respiratory and digestive systems. In many countries today conducted research using ozone, and the results of these studies are published in the course of scientific-metric database. For normal growing animals, especially young animals, premises should be thoroughly disinfected. Disinfection is required for all technological facilities as livestock and poultry. Experimentally found that ozone has a bactericidal effect (for example, test cultures E. coli) on different surfaces (wood, Petri dish) considering its concentration and exposure. The results of influence of different concentrations of ozone in ozonair mixture is fed into the container of the Petri dish, and time impact on survival of microorganisms provides a fairly accurate prediction of the results of impact parameters ozonation. Key words: ozon, ozone therapy, Escherichia coli, disinfection.
Streptococcus suis is an important associated pathogen with a wide range of diseases in pigs such as meningitis, septicemia, pneumonia, endocarditis and arthritis. S suis can be transmitted to humans through direct contact with a sick animal. The disease of pigs with streptococcus not only causes significant direct damage, but also contributes to the spread of viral infections such as PRRS, which is registered in 80% of cases on farms affected by streptococcus. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the prevalence of streptococcal infections, as well as their role as a complicating factor in viral and bacterial diseases. An important factor in the spread of this disease is the irrational use of antibiotics of different groups, which contributes to the rapid acquisition of polyresistance of pathogenic microflora. The article presents the results of studies on the microbiological characteristics and antibiotic resistance of isolates of Streptococcus suis isolated from pathological material from sick pigs. In order to better and faster isolation of the pathogen, the features of its damage to organs and tissues and its localization in the body of piglets were studied. Epizootological monitoring of streptococcal outbreaks on pig farms in Ukraine was carried out. The farms on the basis of which the sampling was carried out are permanently unfavorable for streptococcus of piglets. Laboratory studies of S. suis field isolates found that all studied microorganisms fermented arginine, salicin, glycogen, D-glucose, sucrose, galactose, maltose, salicin, trehalose, inulin, with positive reactions to α-galactosidase, β-glucutane and β-glucura . Of the isolated Str. suis isolates, 87% were sensitive to erythromycin, 75% to clindamycin and 55% to cephalexin, 43% of isolates were resistant to gentamicin and 20% to enrofloxacin. It was found that in 25% of cases S. suis caused the disease in the form of acute monoinfection, in 20% of cases S. suis isolated E. coli, in 16% of cases - with Pasteurella multocida, in 11% of cases - with Haemophilus parasuis. Mixed infection was observed in 17% of cases. Key words: Streptococcus suis, antibiotic resistance, culture properties, diagnostic methods.
The paper highlights the impact of two cross-border poultry infections with zoonotic potential (avian flu and Newcastle disease) on the functioning of industrial poultry farms in the former Soviet Union counties (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan), where the poultry industry is fairly well-developed. Despite the permanent vaccination of poultry against Newcastle disease in industrial poultry farming, the disease still affects individual farms in Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and Kazakhstan. In case of outbreaks, the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan use inactivated influenza vaccines. In Ukraine, for almost 20 years, outbreaks of influenza have been confirmed mainly on individual farms, and one outbreak of highly pathogenic influenza was reported on an industrial poultry farm in 2020. In the Russian Federation, highly pathogenic influenza occurs on industrial poultry farms more often. In Russia, seven industrial poultry enterprises were affected by influenza in 2016-2017, and eight in 2018. Infection of poultry with influenza virus on poultry factory farms is an indication of shortcomings in compliance with biosecurity measures. Influenza and Newcastle disease are always likely to occur in the countries in question, as wild birds migrate through their territory, and they are a reservoir of pathogens, therefore outbreaks are often associated with spring and autumn migrations of wild birds. In all of said countries, a large number of poultry is kept by individual households, where basic biosecurity, sanitation and preventive vaccination measures are not applied. This component is often crucial in bringing viral infections such as influenza and Newcastle disease on large poultry farms. As a result, the virus is brought onto poultry farms by synanthropic birds, humans, transport, feed, etc.
