A technique was devised for wavelength comparison with respect to the S6Kr standard. The apparatus used is described; it consists of an evacuated Fabry-PBrot interferometer with photoelectric detection. The essential feature is provision for scanning the projected interference pattern by a uniform rotation of a mirror. Sources of uncertainty are discussed. Vacuum wavelength values are given for the 86Kr secondary standards which are compared with other recent measurements. The wavelengths obtained agree with the adopted values within the allo\rable tolerances. Furthermore a first series of measurements of the wavelengths of two helium-neon lasers stabiliwd on the Lamb dip are reported.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
