In this study an attempt has been made to study the "Consumption pattern of rural and urban households in Amravati district." The present study is based on primary data collected from 80 households for the year 2012-2013.The households were classified on the basis of income of family. From the socioeconomic point of view, it has been found that rural and urban households varies directly with the number of family members and educational status. The consumption of food stuff by sample households was computed as per consumer unit per month basis. The cereals were main food accounted for about 45.00 per cent, pulses contributed for more than 6.00 per cent and vegetables which accounted for about 10.00 per cent of total food stuff by rural and urban households. The dietary consumption of rural and urban households of food stuffs except leafy vegetables and sugar was found significantly lower than the recommended dietary allowances (RDA). However, the consumption of leafy vegetables and sugar was marginally surplus of RDA. In nutritional intake by rural and urban households, deficiency was observed more in calories, low level of deficiency in protein. However ,consumption of fat was surplus than the recommended level.
: An attempt has been made to study the economics of groundnut production in Amravati district of Maharashtra state. The study revealed that at overall level, the per hectare cost of cultivation of summer groundnut was worked out to Rs.73737.76. It increased with increase in size of holdings from Rs.71720.4 on small to Rs.75588.97 on medium sized farms. The study also revealed that, at overall level, the output-input ratio which indicated the profitability of investment as observed to be 2.37 at Cost A, 1.48 at Cost B and 1.39 at Cost C.
:In this study, an attempt has been made to study analysis of yield gap in wheat in Amravati district with view to study the economics of wheat production and resource use efficiency. The study was based on primary data on input used and there upon costs was collected from two tehsils viz., Amravati and Morshi and from each tahsil 45 samples were selected. Per hectare input utilization for wheat indicated that the medium farmers were used higher inputs as compared to other farm size group of farmers. Per hectare total cost of cultivation of wheat for the sample as whole was Rs. 37235.99 per hectare, gross return from wheat at overall level was Rs. 63861.60. The input-output relationship at overall size group was 1.76 at Cost 'C For the study resource use efficiency of wheat, Cobb-Douglas production function was used. In the overall group resources seed, plant protection and area were significant. Marginal value of product to factor cost ratio at overall group, in case of Human labour, bullock labour and seed was positive and more than one and in case of machine labour, fertilizer, manure, plant protection and area it was negative and less than one.
