Using the CLEO II detector, we have measured the differential cross sections for exclusive two-photon production of light pseudoscalar mesons 0 , , and Ј. From our measurements we have obtained the form factors associated with the electromagnetic transitions ␥*␥→meson. We have measured these form factors in the momentum transfer ranges from 1.5 to 9, 20, and 30 GeV 2 for 0 , , and Ј, respectively, and have made comparisons to various theoretical predictions. ͓S0556-2821͑98͒01001-7͔
The Hohlraum energetics experimental campaign started in the summer of 2009 on the National Ignition Facility (NIF) [E. I. Moses et al., Phys. Plasmas 16, 041006 (2009)]. These experiments showed good coupling of the laser energy into the targets [N. Meezan et al., Phys. Plasmas 17, 056304 (2010)]. They have also demonstrated controlled crossed-beam energy transfer between laser beams as an efficient and robust tool to tune the implosion symmetry of ignition capsules, as predicted by earlier calculations [P. Michel et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 025004 (2009)]. A new linear model calculating crossed-beam energy transfer between cones of beams on the NIF has been developed. The model has been applied to the subscale Hohlraum targets shot during the National Ignition Campaign in 2009. A good agreement can be found between the calculations and the experiments when the impaired propagation of the laser beams due to backscatter is accounted for.
We determine the top quark mass m t using t t pairs produced in the DO " detector by ͱsϭ1.8 TeV pp collisions in a 125 pb Ϫ1 exposure at the Fermilab Tevatron. We make a two constraint fit to m t in t t→bW ϩ b W Ϫ final states with one W boson decaying to qq and the other to e or . Likelihood fits to the data yield m t (lϩjets)ϭ173.3Ϯ5.6 (stat) Ϯ 5.5 (syst) GeV/c 2 . When this result is combined with an analysis of events in which both W bosons decay into leptons, we obtain m t ϭ172.1Ϯ5.2 (stat) Ϯ 4.9 (syst) GeV/c 2 . An alternate analysis, using three constraint fits to fixed top quark masses, gives m t (lϩjets)ϭ176.0 Ϯ7.9 (stat)Ϯ 4.8 (syst) GeV/c 2 , consistent with the above result. Studies of kinematic distributions of the top quark candidates are also presented. ͓S0556-2821͑98͒06815-5͔
