The colloidal electrodes formed by co‐precipitation of hydrous hydroxides on Pt, C, Au, or Ni can be classified into three groups according to the extent of the interaction between the two hydroxides.
028ChemInform Abstract The electrochemical behavior of mixed Ni(OH)2/Fe(OH)2 electrodes either as a coprecipitated layer or as a sandwich-type structure layer by layer precipitated, is investigated. A particularly high catalytic activity toward the OER is observed for coprecipitated electrodes which contain a mixed hydrated oxide. The catalytic activity of layer by layer precipitated electrodes depends on the sequence of precipitation. Loss of efficiency is observed when the inner layer is made of Fe(OH)2 because of a poisoning of the electrode (kinetic and mechanistic aspects).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
