The article presents the results of research to ensure the safety of peeled potatoes in various types of vacuum packaging stored under controlled conditions of a laboratory stand. It was found that at a temperature of 4 ± 1 °C and a relative humidity of 85 - 95%, samples of peeled potatoes in the considered storage range retained their quality in packaging samples: No. 3 (biaxially oriented polypropylene film) and No. 9 (a prototype of biodegradable film on based on polylactic acid). In other types of packaging, the peeled potatoes were excessively moist with rotted spots or excessively dry surfaces.
The article presents studies to establish the preferred storage conditions for drinking water enriched with oxygen and to determine the dynamics of changes in the content of dissolved oxygen in drinking water. The dynamics of changes in the content of dissolved oxygen in drinking water in PET bottles, depending on the storage conditions, and the dynamics of changes in the content of dissolved oxygen in drinking water with free access of air have been determined. It was found that the content of dissolved oxygen in drinking water in a 0.5 L PET bottle, when it is reopened after 24 hours, decreases by 11 ± 2 mg.
In the modern world, most packaging materials are made from non-renewable resources, usually from polymers of the polyolefin class: polyethylene, polypropylene and their copolymers. The use of polyethylene in the domestic market has increased markedly in recent years. Despite their diverse advantages, polymer materials cause great harm to the environment, since almost all packaging is disposable and is disposed of after the product is removed from it. The problem of packaging disposal remains open and acute. This article examines the dynamics of the recycling of packaging materials, global production capacities, the study of which allows us to assert that at this stage the world market is showing interest and the search for new solutions for the development of technologies and the adjustment of production of biodegradable packaging materials in properties that are not inferior to conventional synthetic materials.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
