Terabus is based on a silicon-carrier interposer on an organic card containing 48 polymer waveguides. We have demonstrated 4x12 arrays of low power optical transmitters and receivers, operating up to 20Gb/s and 14Gb/s per channel respectively.

Internal interconnect and external interfacing are important elements of a WSI device. This paper examines these areas, with particular reference to the practical experience gained on the WASP project. A recent WASP technology demonstrator device is presented as a case study and measurements from actual devices are presented.
