Investigations of the characteristics of an ultrasonic comb transducer have been performed for a range of transducer parameters.A numerical model-providing a time domain wave propagation solution for the field generated by a transducer on an elastic plate is presented. The ability of mode selection and isolation is demonstrated, which is of practical significance in NDE.
An exact analytical solution for a three-dimensional case of the vibration of an infinite orthotropic plate loaded on its upper boundary is considered. The influence of source parameters on the characteristics of wave propagation in an orthotropic elastic infinite plate are analyzed. An asymptotic approximation for evaluating displacement in the far field is developed. Sample numerical calculation results are presented for various source parameters.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
