The use of knitting for producing advanced composite structures has seen increasing interest in recent years. However, there is limited information about the interaction of high performance fibers such as glass fibers with the weft knitting process. This paper investigates the relationship between machine settings and the physical properties of glass fiber weft-knitted preforms, including the knittability of glass fibers.
