• Low back pain is a major public health problem with high direct and indirect back-pain-related costs. • Chronic low back pain is a disabling disease which restricts quality of life. • Psychological factors may have a larger impact on disability and quality of life than pain itself. • The recurrent course of low back pain highlights the importance of multidisciplinary pain management even during acute exacerbations of pain.
For future research and treatment it might be challenging to develop theoretical frameworks combining different subgrouping classifications. On the basis of this framework, tailoring treatments more specifically to the patient needs may result in improvements in treatment programs for patients with LBP.
The results show differences in the level and process of SI, DS and QoL between the subgroups. An AEM-based classification of subgroups is also reasonable for CLPB patients.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
