In pollution control applications, the presence of water in the electrical discharge enhances oxidation of pollutants. We report the results of a discharge in gas when it flows through a heterogeneous mixture of water and dielectric pellets. The discharge is similar to a dielectric-barrier discharge with a mixture of water and dielectric beads. The electrical characteristics of such a discharge are discussed. We also report the results of removal of SOz with the wet reactor. The wet reactor was found to 5 times more efficient compared to the conventional dry reactors.
