The safety assessment process tailored to Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) applications has been discussed briefly. The modified Hazard Reference System for STANAG 4703 Category UAV including Non Safety Effect (NSE) severity category has been proposed. The Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) for small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system has been conducted.
The article comprehensively describes corrosion problems related to the structure of ground-return circuits of military aircraft with metal fuselage structure. The authors describe problems related to the usage of the fuselage as a ground-return circuit of electric current, especially with negative circuits connecting the fuselage with negative terminals of the receiver or the source, rarely discussed in the scientific literature due to the triviality of the problem. Given the necessity to reduce the measurement error, the authors use a technical method for measuring the resistance of the fuselage fabric covering with the intensity of test current increased in proportion to the surface area and the degree of folding the contact surface.
The purpose of this paper is to provide the Mi-8/17 helicopter Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) System Preliminary System Safety Hazard Analysis (PSSHA). The PSSHA identifies and classifies potential hazards, and the actions necessary to reduce or eliminate the risks resulting from the installation and operation of SHM System on board of the helicopter. The overall objective of the PSSHA is to establish that the potential Mi 8/17 helicopter modification does not introduce unacceptable hazard conditions to both the helicopter and personnel. The MIL-STD-882 risk assessment methodology is applied to assess hazards and risk acceptance levels for both hardware and software elements of the SHM system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
