Mesoporous calcium modified samples of titanium dioxide are synthesized. Their structural, photocatalytic, and sorption properties are studied. The modified samples differ from titanium dioxide in their characteristics and properties: increased specific surface and average pore volume, smaller average pore diameter, and higher photocatalytic and sorption activities toward dyes and dichromate anions.
A method for producing mesoporous titania modified with barium titanate has been developed. As the proportion of barium titanate in the samples increases, the specific surface area and average pore vol ume and radius decrease. The modified materials exhibit photocatalytic and sorption activity with respect to the Safranin T dye and the dichromate anion. The rate constants of photocatalytic reactions increase with an increase in the amount of the adsorbate.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
