Organizational competence is essential for an efficient EFL writer as it is concerned with two essential characteristics for language proficiency which are grammatical and textual abilities. Organizational competence shows basic abilities in the EFL students’ writing. When students are proficient in grammatical and textual abilities, they will be able to write effectively. The current study aims at identifying and comparing:1. EFL university organizational competence at the departments of English in Tikrit students’ and AL-Anbar universities.2. EFL university students grammatical competence at the two universities.3. EFL university students’ textual competence at the two universities.4. The differences of organizational competence abilities among EFL university students according to gender variable at the two universities: Tikrit and Al-Anbar.The current study is an investigation study and the sample of the present study is two hundred and fourteen in the third stage of the Departments of English, Colleges of Education at Tikrit, and Al Anbar universities during the academic year 2021/2022. The data gathered by using a diagnostic test to assess students’ organizational competence in writing. According to the findings of the current study, EFL university students have a low ability in organizational competence. In the light of these results, some conclusions, recommendations and suggestions for further studies are presented.
