The synthesis of biodiesel from crude pond palm oil (CPO) fraction has been performed using ZrO2/SO3 -H + catalyst. The research was carried out via two processes. First process, i.e. catalyst preparation of ZrO2/SO3 -H + was performed through wet impregnation method by mixing 1 g ZrOCl2·8H2O with 15 mL (0.5 M) of H2SO4. The second process, involved the synthesis of biodiesel was performed in 2 stages, namely esterification of crude palm oil fraction catalyzed by ZrO2/SO3 -H + and transesterification using KOH catalyst. Results showed that ZrO2/SO3 -H + has been successfully synthesized from ZrOCl2·8H2O and H2SO4 which have been proven by FT-IR and XRD analysis. Biodiesel could be synthesized by esterification catalyzed by ZrO2/SO3 -H + and KOH catalyzed transesterification with 68.96 % conversion. Biodiesel formation is evidenced by the appearance of several peaks corresponding to the peak of methyl palmitate (48.51 %), methyl oleate (46.38 %), methyl stearate (3.84 %), methyl myristate (0.97 %) and methyl laurate (0.3 %). Based on ASTM data, biodiesel can be used as diesel fuel refers to SNI 04-7182-2006.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of work motivation and competence on the performance of employees in the production department at PT Growth Asia Medan. The study was conducted on employees of the production section of PT Growth Asia Medan with a population of 320 people. Samples were taken as many as 80 people. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire methods and documentation techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive methods and multiple linear regression analysis. Partial test results (t test) prove that motivation has a positive but not significant effect on employee performance, while competence has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT Growth Asia Medan. Simultaneous test (F test) shows that work motivation and competency simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.703 means that 70.3% of the performance of PT Growth Asia Medan's production department employees is influenced by work motivation and employee work competence, while the remaining 29.7% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study, for example leadership variables, commitment work, work culture, work environment, compensation, and so on. Leaders need to pay attention to work performance, giving bonuses, direction, and increasing work motivation for employees
Boron and cadmium in U 3 O 8 have been analyzed with emission spectrograph. Three inputs of emission spectrograph, current (A), exposure time (second) and gap between electrodes (mm) were varied. Two outputs, boron and cadmium lines intensities respectively were selected and measured. Thirteen experiments have been carried out and data found were calculated by fuzzy logic Mamdani-type. Three and five memberships functions of straight-line (Triangular, Trapezoidal), Generalized-bell and Gaussian curve were used to analyze the found data. The result found that five memberships functions had less error percentage range than three memberships functions of straight-line (Triangular, Trapezoidal), Generalizedbell and Gaussian curve. The error percentage range of cadmium analysis was wider than boron analysis with this method. Analysis of cadmium in U 3 O 8 with this method needs much exposure time compare to analysis of boron.
THE USE OF DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING IN ANALYSIS OF BORON, CADMIUM IN THORIUM OXIDEWITHOUT CARRIER DISTILLATION EMISSION SPECTROGRAPH METHOD. The use of digital imageprocessing in direct determination elements of highly absorption cross-section of thermal neutron such as B andCd in nuclear fuel ThO2 without carrier distillation was described. Working and counter electrode should bemodified because volume of the sample was larger than the traditional one. Firstly, analysis of B and Cd in ThO2was recorded by X-ray film for thorax and then was proceeded by mini digital camera. All files in mini digitalcamera were transferred to computer and read by digital image processing of Matlab software. It was found thatall line spectra became Gaussian shape. Since couple of camera position and lightening system had not beendone successfully yet, therefore, quantitative analysis could not been done yet, meanwhile qualitative analysishad already been done by analysis spectra after image processing. It is easier to analysis B and Cd qualitativelyuse of image processing than densitometer instrument. Keywords : Thorium Oxide, Carrier Distillation, Image Processing, Digital Camera
This study aims to describe the influence of communication, organizational culture and compensation on employee performance at PT. Ira Widya Utama Medan. This research was conducted at PT. Ira Widya Utama Medan which lasted for 3 (three) months, starting from February 2017 until May 2016. This research uses census method. Research respondents are all employees of PT. Ira Widya Utama Medan, amounting to 72 (seventy two) people. The instrument used is a questionnaire to collect data from communication variables, organizational culture and compensation and employee performance variables. Data analysis technique used is validity test, reliability test, descriptive analysis, multicollinearity test, normality test, multiple linear regression analysis, multiple linear correlation coefficient test, partial hypothesis test or t test, simultaneous hypothesis test or F test, and calculation of coefficient of determination. Descriptive analysis results for communication and organizational culture variables are in good category while the compensation and employee performance variables are in the category of good enough PT. Ira Widya Utama Medan. Based on partial analysis, communication, organizational culture and compensation have a positive and significant impact on employee performance at PT. Ira Widya Utama. Based on the simultaneous analysis, communication, organizational culture and compensation have a positive and significant impact on employee performance at PT. Ira Widya Utama Medan. Contribution from communication variable, organizational culture and compensation to improve employee performance variable at PT. Ira Widya Utama Medan is equal to 0.812 or 81.2%, while the remaining 0.188 or 18.8% is influenced by other variables not examined by the authors in this study, suchas leadership, work environment, workmotivation, competence, workcommitment and othesetc
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
