For a long time, the primary approach to assessment was the normative approach when the individual achievements of students were compared with a particular norm (the results of most students). Recently, domestic pedagogical research has been developing a criteria-based approach to assessing academic achievement when students' achievements are compared with the amount of knowledge that needs to be acquired at a particular stage of training. This study aimed to determine the role of criteria-based assessment in the formation of students functional literacy in computer science and to build a criteria-based assessment model in the development of functional literacy beyond to demonstrate the effectiveness of the methods of formation of students functional literacy in computer science. The leading research methods were the criteria-based assessment methodology developed by the authors and the method of formative assessment. Some elements of the methodology of forming evaluation were considered. For further development of the methods for the formation of students functional literacy in computer science, a criteria-based assessment model has been built. The introduction of criteria-based assessment will allow to switch to a formative evaluation aimed at developing student competence. The evaluation, consisting of criteria that a student understands, stimulates him and makes the learning process meaningful. Based on practical experiments and the proposed criteria-based assessment, the effectiveness of methods for the formation of students functional literacy in computer science has been proved.
Objective: The purpose of this article is to compile a model of a system for assessing students' functional literacy based on a criteria-based approach. Background: Everyone use a traditional five-point grading system to assess students' activities, but using it, it's not always possible to objectively evaluate student work. Therefore, the authors use the criteria-based student assessment system in our lessons.Method: Criteria based assessment involves a mechanism that allows evaluating students more objectively. Assessing the activities of students in the lesson becomes democratic, since a student is the subject of his training, and a teacher does not play the role of a "judge" in grading. Results: As a result of the study, it was revealed that the assessment system makes it possible to determine how successfully one or another educational material is mastered, or a certain practical skill is formed. At the same time, it is advisable to take a mandatory minimum as a reference point. Conclusion:The criteria-based assessment system is completely transparent in the sense of how to give formative and summative grades, as well as the goals for which these grades are put. It is also a means of diagnosing learning problems, providing and ensuring constant contact between a teacher, student, and parents. Based on the conducted practical experiment, the effectiveness of the model of the system for assessing the functional literacy of students based on the criteria-based approach in computer science has been proved.
The article discusses the features of applying the criterion approach to assessing the functional literacy of schoolchildren in computer science, the possibility of developing tasks based on the works of the studied scientists. In accordance with the updated educational program, the system of tasks aimed at the development of functional literacy of schoolchildren involves solving problems specific to specific life situations. This problem is usually associated with a new personal life for schoolchildren, work, recreation, and social life. The problems posed in the framework of tasks require the student to be able to work with information; manage many types of interrelated and interdependent objects and phenomena; describe the features of developing ways to solve problems in a new context. The possibility of implementing a system of multi-level tasks in improving the effectiveness of the lesson by creating a system of tasks for assessing the functional literacy of students in the study of computer science is determined. The possibilities of assessment aimed at increasing the interest and motivation of students by drawing up life tasks to improve the functional literacy of students are considered.
In the article, based on the criterion approach, the effectiveness of the system for assessing the functional literacy of students in computer science is proved by conducting a pedagogical experiment and conclusions are drawn about the results of practical work. The teaching experience consists of three stages. At the ascertaining stage, it was revealed to what extent the assessment tasks in computer science were compiled taking into account the directions of functional literacy of students. At the applicant stage, tasks and tasks were developed to assess the functional literacy of students based on a criteria-based approach in computer science. At the educational and control stage, the influence of the functional literacy assessment system, developed on the basis of a criterion approach in computer science, on the quality of knowledge and the methodology of teaching students in computer science was revealed. In addition, during the practice, the educational and methodological manual "tasks for assessing the functional literacy of students in computer science" was used. During the training in the control groups, the assessment of knowledge was carried out according to the traditional method, and in the experimental groups on tasks to assess the functional literacy of students based on the criteria approach.
