Heart disease is one among the most factors inflicting death in developed and developing countries. Heart rate monitoring plays an important role in detecting abnormalities in heart rhythm. This paper proposes cardiac arrhythmia detection method based on the heart rate using ballistocardiogram (BCG) signal. The BCG signals are acquired for 10 minutes from 20 subjects using piezoelectric sensors and National Instruments data acquisition card (DAQ) and processed using National Instruments LabVIEW. Heart rate is calculated from JJ intervals, that are obtained using peak detector with thresholding. Cardiac arrhythmias like tachycardia and bradycardia are detected based on the heart rate.keywords -Ballistocardiogram, Cardiac Arrhythmia.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
