Nowadays, the foot pressure analyze using a wearable sensing systems becomes innovative in clinical and research fields to enable real time care of patients and to accelerate the detection of diseases. The plantar pressure is measured using a smart shoe insole system with multi-sensors placed in different anatomical zones of the foot, the best position and number of sensors depends on the type of analyze. The aim of this systematic review was to assess the measurement of plantar pressure with instrumented smart shoe insole. We studied the main characteristics of the shoe insole systems, and their ability to identify diseases and for efficient real time care of patients. The shoe insole systems are classified according to the number and types of sensors. This paper can be a valuable source of recent references for future research in the field of smart insole systems.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
