Surveyed after surgery (mean 357 days), 94.2% were independent in all ADLs (compared to 97.7% at baseline), 34.8% reported incontinence (baseline 33.7%), 34.4% reported falls (baseline 29.5%), and 33.8% reported "poor or fair health" (baseline 29.4%). 60-day and 1 year mortality were 1%, and 5%.CONCLUSION: Hysterectomy is well tolerated in this geriatric cohort with low rates of loss of function, discharge to nursing facility, and mortality.
