ResumoOs efluentes gerados nas instalações de bovinocultura leiteira, quando mal gerenciados, originam impactos ambientais significativos, necessitando da implantação de alternativas tecnológicas com vistas à manutenção da qualidade dos cursos d`água. Diante disso, o objetivo deste estudo é avaliar o desempenho de um wetland construído de fluxo vertical (WCFV) plantado com a macrófita Typha domingensis Pers. aplicado no tratamento de efluentes de bovinocultura leiteira. O filtro operou com uma vazão de 1.500 L/dia (4.500 L/semana). Por meio do monitoramento físico-químico ao longo de 12 meses, verificaram-se eficiências médias de remoção em termos de carga de 70% de DQO, 70% de SS, 73% de NTK, 81% de N-NH 4 e 16% de P-PO 4 3-. Observou-se, ainda, dificuldade de adaptação da macrófita ao filtro, sendo que a mesma apresentou baixas velocidades de crescimento, área foliar reduzida e baixa densidade de planta por m², devido ao estresse hídrico proporcionado pela baixa umidade presente no WCFV. AbstractThe dairy cattle wastewater, when poorly managed can promote significant environmental impacts, requiring therefore the deployment of alternative technologies in order to maintain the quality of water courses. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of a vertical flow constructed wetland planted with macrophytes Typha domingensis Pers. applied as wastewater treatment of dairy cattle. The filter was operated with an average flow of 1,500 L/ day (4,500 L / week). During 12 months of operation time, the filter showed an average removal efficiencies in terms of load of 70% COD, 70% SS, KTN 73%, 81% NH 4 -N and 16% P-PO 4 3-. It was observed difficulty in the adaptation of the macrophytes in the filter, with low growth rates, reduced area and low density plants per m², due to water stress provided by low humidity present in VFCW.
