Twenty-six liquid antacids have been assessed using a procedure which permits comparisons to be made in terms of 'antacid efficiency' parameter which reflects both the ability to maintain pH above 3 and the duration of the effect. A wide variation in activity was demonstrated in the preparations tested and it was concluded that antacids could be classified into four categories according to potency.
In this study, road traffic injury (RTI) was defined as any injury resulting from a road traffic accident irrespective of severity and outcome. Road traffic accident (RTA) was defined as any crash on the road involving at least one moving vehicle, irrespective of it resulting in an injury. This could include collision with a vehicle or any non`moving object while driving/riding a vehicle, collision with a moving vehicle while walking/running/standing/ sitting on the road, or fall from a moving vehicle. The burden of road traffic accidents (RTA) is a leading cause of all trauma admissions in hospitals worldwide. Road traffic injuries cause considerable economic losses to victims, their families, and to nations as a whole. These losses arise from the cost of treatment (including rehabilitation and incident investigation) as well as reduced/lost productivity (e.g. in wages) for those killed or disabled by their injuries and for family members who need to take time off work (or school) to care for the injured. Road traffic fatality in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is the highest, accounts for 4.7% of all mortalities. Road injuries also are reported to be the most serious in this country, with an accident to injury ratio of 8:6. In this study, we try to focus on some causes of the accidents in KSA, so we can implement the prevention plan.
Paramedics were only given the essentials to deal with influenza vaccination. On the other hand, 67.6 percent of them were actually vaccinated. To reduce the spread of the virus, healthcare providers should work hard to immunize the population around us at any given time. There has been a lot of study into flu, and the general consensus is that it is a type of acute respiratory illness. Influenza is a very contagious and transmissible viral disease that can cause very severe symptoms. This was designed to determine those parents who smoke, how aware they are about the flu symptoms, and how they deal with them. This survey is a part of a study that was conducted by us of healthy male paramedics. When they were given an online questionnaire that included eight questions, all the participants found the questions to be very straightforward. As a result of this survey, we will know exactly what the Saudi parents really know about disease prevention and treatments. The purpose of the study is to find out if the paramedics of Saudi Hospitals would like to be vaccinated against seasonal influenza. The paper uses the word "seriously" to talk about the importance of vaccination (which is an interesting word choice). This research was conducted on a sample of 222 healthy male paramedics assessed by the use of an online questionnaire, along with a personal rating of beliefs regarding influenza vaccination and the status of self-reported vaccination. The paper also identifies the reasons why the people in question are not being vaccinated and the outcomes. By conducting a percentage analysis by reviewing the questionnaire results, it was found that the paramedics were very unaware of the importance of and effectiveness of the Hepatitis B Vaccination. According to what the paramedics found, the vaccine wasn't available in the hospitals, so they couldn't administer it, either.
Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics take immediate care of patients who are injured or unhealthy and ensure their transportation to or from the hospital. Almost 10% of all European Union employees work in health and social care systems, and a considerable number of them work in hospitals. The same is the case in Saudi Arabia, where the health care system is well developed and vibrant. With such a large workforce working in an environment where they can face accidents and injuries, accidents do happen. According to the International Labor Organization, there are 270 million occupational accidents causing 2 million deaths annually. The study was conducted at King Fahd Military Complex, Dhahran and Red Crescent. The study was aimed to identify the nature, frequency and causes of work-related injuries among paramedical staff. The present is among the largest studies of WRIs in EMTs in Saudi Arabia. In this study, we found a very high rate of verbal and physical violence against healthcare personnel. Physical violence negatively affects levels of satisfaction in workers. Studies indicate that exposure to both chronic and critical incident stressors increases the risk of EMS personnel developing post-traumatic stress reactions. The risk of WRIs to paramedics and EMTs is obviously high. The most common injuries were verbal/ physical violence, needle stick injuries and motor vehicle accidents. The most common cause for these WRIs was carelessness on part of EMTs.
Increasing students’ academic stress especially during exams may result in sleep disorders, fatigue, poor academic performance and low functional efficiency. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of sleep quality on educational performance of paramedic students. This research depends on a cross-sectional observational study. The samples of the study were 150 individual who will be chosen randomly from Saudi PSMCHS-Dhahran paramedic students. Data related to demographic aspects, work-related information was gathered from the samples of the study. Finally, the data of the study was analyzed through SPSS program. Four sleep scales were adopted for the study like Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (KPDS). The level of education like diploma and bachelor had a significant relation between the ESS and FSS. Bridging level of education has relation with KPDS. Marital status and BMI were significant with ISI and KPDS respectively. Physiological distress and excessive day time sleepiness were significant with ISI, FSS and KPDS.It can be stated that sleep quality of paramedic students is affected with high ratio by the educational performance. This is because the high stress of work regarding paramedic students leads them to have less amount of sleep quality and then this affects their educational performance.
