Considerable researcher has been carried out for the identification of the barriers faced by women entrepreneurs in Pakistan and how these barriers can be removed. Moreover, the research has also attempted to establish the impact of entrepreneurial activities on the lifestyle of women. Qualitative research technique has been employed for the analysis of the data. It was established from results obtained that after starting the business, lifestyle of women entrepreneurs has improved substantially.
Structure of the society is the arrangement of various factors on the basis of traditions and ethics, and these values are transferred from generation to generation. The most important thing is that the pattern of the society should be balanced, which is obviously not practical in our society as this trend is seen in all aspects of our life. Media is a very important institution, yet it has not portrayed women in positive manner. If we see film medium, women are represented as sex object and commodity in a stereotypical roles. This under representation of women in movies created imbalance in the society, yet it also embeds a negative and inferior image of women in people’s mind. In this study, to highlight these issues library research and content analysis is used to analyze gender stereotype in movies because women are projected and used as commodity in movies which distorts their image.
The impact of COVID-19 across the globe women have been profound because emerging evidence on the impact of COVID-19 shows that women’s lives have been affected disproportionately and differently. Presently, the epidemic of COVID-19 has had a major impact on every sphere of human life. All aspects of human life (social, economic, political) were directly or indirectly affected by the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus. Women are greatly affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 as compared to men. Women are half of the population of the world. They are involved in every sphere of life. A large number of women are working in the health, economy, security, hospitality, social protection, and education sectors all over the globe. Furthermore, the workload on women is higher than men in all fields (domestic and economic) of their lives. In COVID-19 women are not able to fulfil their socioeconomic responsibilities so the level of depression is increased in them. Due to COVID-19, the percentage of unemployed and depressed women has increased throughout the world as well in Pakistan. The aim of this research study is to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on Pakistani women. To achieve the target, Data is collected through the non-probability snowball and convenient sampling technique. A total of 60 women were interviewed from different segments of society for the collection of primary data. The clinical studies, international reports, working papers along peer-reviewed articles as secondary data. The results of this research highlight that COVID-19 has harmed women in all areas of their lives. Furthermore, results point out that working women are more probable to spend their incomes on their families as compared to men. Therefore, in the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, women are fired from their jobs and livelihoods and facing vulnerable situations which created unbelievable depression, panic, and anxiety in them.
Many parents send their pre-school aged children to daycare services. Generally, children spend their time in daycare from the age of 3 months to 5 years. Various daycare centers are operating in Karachi. This researcher is exploratory and was focused on gathering information about the care quality standards of daycare centers. Different factors, which include institution type, operational timings, building structure and capacity, financial sources, workforce competency, service delivery mechanism (use of equipment), the behavior of staff, amenities available, hygiene management, and perception of daycare service providers have been analyzed in this research.
This study was conducted from the period of October to December 2013 with a selected population of elderly women who belongs to urban and rural areas of Karachi. The aim of the study was to investigate the Socio-economic conditions, health status, psychological condition, living style and also social support mechanisms among the elderly women in both rural and urban areas. Stratified random sampling method was used to collect the data. A sample of 300 female senior citizens was selected from two different communities of two union councils namely, “Jut Lines” and the “Central Jacob Line” of Jamshed Town from urban area and two from Malir town to represent the rural population of Karachi, Pakistan. The respondents were interviewed through a formulated questionnaire that was crosstranslated into Urdu language to determine the participant’s socio-economic problems. The study respondents belong to different walks of life and they participated voluntarily in this study. Similar studies are needed to be conducted in other community settings for recommending appropriate changes in public behavior towards elder women problems’ in our society.
