This paper represents the comparative study of Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for Grid scheduling. The objective of ACO and PSO is to dynamically generate an optimal schedule so as to complete the tasks in minimum period of time as well as utilizing the resources in an efficient way. Makespan is the performance measure used for the comparison of the scheduling techniques. This paper compares both the above said optimization techniques and it is concluded that particle swarm optimization has better performance compared to ant colony optimization for grid scheduling.
This study basically employs the Markowitz mean-variance model for portfolio selection problem. Since this model is classified as a quadratic programming model there is not any efficient algorithm to solve it. The goal of this study is to find a feasible portfolio with a minimum risk through the application of heuristic algorithm. The two PSO and GA algorithm has been used. The results show that PSO approach is suitable in portfolio optimization.
The effect of behavior psychological characteristics and psychological characteristics of accountants on their performance has caught the attention of researchers. The purpose of this study was to design a structural model of relationship between self-efficacy and job performance with mediating role of mental toughness of accountants. The present study is an applied quantitative research which is based on structural equation modeling. In this study, out of 350 employed accountants in the offices of Arvand Free Zone in 2021 selected by simple random sampling, only 200 people were selected as the sample and answered the research questionnaire. The results showed that selfefficacy has a positive effect on job performance. In addition, selfefficacy has a positive effect on mental toughness. The results also show that mental toughness has a positive effect on the job performance of accountants. Moreover, the results also showed that of this study indicate that self-efficacy has a positive effect on the job performance of accountants by mental toughness. Therefore, attention to the positive psychological variables of self-efficacy and mental toughness of accountants of Arvand Free Zone offices can cause positive behavioral
Introduction: The prognostic value of pulmonary hypertension (PH) estimated by echocardiography in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) is poorly studied. This study aimed to evaluate the association between echocardiographic markers of pulmonary hypertension and short-term prognoses in patients with AHF. Materials and Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study was conducted on patients with acute heart failure admitted to Golestan and Imam Khomeini hospitals in Ahvaz, Iran, in 2020. A total of 259 consecutive patients with ADHF underwent an echocardiographic evaluation to assess the probability of PH and right ventricular dysfunction (TAPSE<16 mm). The patients were followed up for six months after hospital discharge, and their outcome was recorded. The probability of PH was estimated based on European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines for echocardiographic evaluation. Kaplan-Meier method was used to determine the cumulative survival rate and the Cox regression model to define the hazard ratio. Results: During six months of follow-up, the all-cause mortality rate was 118 (45.55%), including 106 cardiovascular deaths (40.92%).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
