Most of the books on Journalism, Mass Communication and Media Studies discuss and elaborate the areas of process and the effects of mass communication. These books deal with the effects of media content on people and society but it is equally important to understand the influences that shape media content. Media, not only influence target audience, but themselves are influenced by a number of factors. It has been found by research that media content is influenced by the personal attitudes and orientations of media workers, professionalism, corporate policies, ownership patterns, the economic environment, advertisers, audiences, ideology and above all, the governments (Shoemaker & Reese, 2004:4). This study investigates the influence of Government on print media content in Pakistan based on its advertising power and being the largest advertiser of the country.
The present study aimed to propose strategies for the effective implementation of Early Childhood Education Programme in government schools in Punjab. A sample of 300 heads of educational institutions was taken from the 36 districts of Punjab to evaluate this programme. A questionnaire was used to collect the opinion of the heads of educational institutions. The findings of the study show that physical facilities were provided by the government for the implementation of ECE programme in only 1000 schools in Punjab. The curriculum developed by the Federal Government is used for the development of the students. The heads of educational institutions and ECE teachers were provided training for effective implementation. The school council members/parents required to involve for the effective implementation of the ECE programme. The appointment of teachers on merits basis, having professional degree in Early Childhood Education is also required to make the ECE programme more effective and successful.
The relations between the United States of America and Pakistan have a significant impact on the world’s politics as well as in shaping the future of the globe. However, the relations between the two countries have been passing through a lot of ups and downs during the last seven decades. Media have a pivotal role in framing and shaping this ‘love and hate’ relationship. The purpose of this study was to investigate the coverage of the United States-Pakistan relations by the American newspapers because the media coverage shapes the public opinion. Two major newspapers of the United States were content analyzed for a period of one year with the help of Lexis and Nexis and the coverage of Pakistan was measured and analyzed qualitatively as well as quantitatively. The results of the study revealed that the American newspapers portrayed a highly negative image of Pakistan and most of the coverage about the bilateral relations was found as negative.
The study examined the coverage of general issues and to find out the performance of Pakistan Peoples Party from 2008 to 2013; through English Pakistani newspaper. The aim of this study to investigate the coverage of general issues that how the newspapers framed these issues in a "Good" and "Bad" frame. Furthermore, these frames were showing the credibility of the government. The quantitative content analysis method was used and, the population, all news stories related to general issues, published in selected newspapers, last five years in a selected Regime from 2008 to 2013 in Pakistan. The systematic Random sampling method was deemed appropriate and employed for this study. The finding of this study shows that The PPP government completed its five years term, in that tenure bad governance was in peak. Due to bad governance, poverty was on peak, and the worst model was adobe to control law and order situation, corruption was on peak, all type of terrorism practically active and had no proper plan to fulfil basic needs of the general public. There were waves of political unrest ahead of the 2008 and 2013 general election. The unfortunate incident happened in December 2007 assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the former prime minister and chair of the PPP, and there were several attacks in KP and FATA targeting leftist politicians and political rallies in the weeks preceding the 2008 general election.
