Children are the future of every country and all societies strive to ensure their health and safety. Since India's independence, continuous efforts have been made to improve the status of children. The large burden of communicable, infectious and nutritional disorders is gradually on the decline due to massive efforts and investments by successive Indian government, even though it is an unfinished agenda. Parallel to these changes, it is also becoming apparent that children saved from disease of yesterday are becoming victim of injury on road, at home and in public, recreational places. Children are naturally curious. As soon as they are mobile, begin to explore their surroundings and play with new objects, at the same time though, they come into contact with objects that can cause severe injuries playing with fire or touching hot objects can result in burns. This is a debilitating condition accompanied by intense pain and long term illness that creates suffering not only for the child but for the wider family and community. A burn is defined as an injury to the skin or other organic tissue caused by thermal trauma, it occurs when some or all of the cells in the skin or other tissues are destroyed by hot liquids, hot solids or flames, radiation, radioactivity, electricity, friction or contact with chemicals are also considered as burns .
Emotional Stress is a more subtle, if it's chronic, the eventual consequences can be as harmful. Stress hormones (Cortisol and adrenaline) provide energy and focus in the short term, but too much stress over too many years can throw a person system off balance. Overloads of Stress hormone have been linked to many health problems, including heart disease, high blood pressure and weaken immune functions. For older people already at heightened risk for these illnesses, managing stress is particularly important. Wools ton. C., (2006).
Hanning et al. (200) performed the study on the stress and its impact on patients care over 300 Psychiatric nurses in Wales. In the study the impact of stressed staff caring of vulnerable individuals was discussed. The study shows that half of the respondents ware found to be over extended and highly emotional. One is seven experienced little or no satisfaction while one in our admitted that they have negative attitude towards their client. Critical care and long term work is itself inherently stress full. It has been documented that work stress leads to emotional exhaustion has been well documented and has the link between work stress and more serious & enduring mental disturbance. The health care industries have experienced for found changes during the past several decades. Nursing as a health care profession and a major component of the health care delivery system is significantly affected by shifts in the health care industry, especially in long term illness care. Thus they undergo tremendous stress in their occupational life as well as their personal life.
