Nowadays, English should be mastered by all level of people and for all ages namely for children, teenagers or adults. There is a special challenge for improving the ability especially for hinterland society. For Rempang Cate citizen which is one of tourism destination in Batam, it is still far from the expectation. The idea of this community service is to improve the communication as the tourist destination host especially English for tourism. Finally, by giving this training to them, it is expected that they are able to attract more tourst to visit this place. The method of this community service is by giving training to three levels of class by providing material related to  simple conversation fo tourism. Based on general result of questionnaire, everything ran well and no obstacles and difficulties happened to organize this training. It was very helpful to improve the readiness of the society to welcome the tourist.

Abstrak—Pesona alam dari pulau-pulau kecil yang terdapat di kepulauan Riau tidak dapat dipungkiri mampu memanjakan mata dan menarik perhatian orang-orang untuk datang berwisata. Pulau Mubut darat, yang berada di kecamatan Sembulang, kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau, sudah menjadi satu di antara beberapa kawasan wisata pantai yang menjadi pilihan. Namun, dalam pengelolaan lokasi wisata, masyarakat dan pengelola secara khususnya belum mampu menerapkan ide-ide dan fasilitas pendukung untuk memuaskan para wisatawan yang datang berkunjung sehingga kawasan wisata pulau Mubut darat mulai kalah saing dengan wisata lainnya. Hasil observasi tim pengabdian Politeknik Negeri Batam menemukan beberapa ide yang dapat membantu meningkatkan promosi dan daya tarik wisata di Pulau Mubut. Satu diantaranya adalah dengan membuat plang informasi denah lokasi atau POI di kawasan Mubut Darat. Metode pembuatan plang ini dimulai dengan pengambilan gambar keseluruhan Pulau Mubut Darat. Kemudian, titik lokasi masing-masing area dipetakan dan dinamai di setiap bangunan dan fasilitas yang tersedia. Dengan adanya plang informasi denah lokasi atau POI tersebut, wisatawan akan mendapat informasi secara utuh tentang kawasan pulau mubut darat. Plang informasi denah lokasi atau POI tersebut diharapkan menjadi bagian dari ikon foto wisata pulau Mubut darat sehingga mampu mempromosikan dan meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan untuk datang berkunjung.
