The severity of road accidents is a big problem around the world, particularly in developing countries. Recognizing the major contributing variables can help reduce the severity of traffic accidents. This research uncovered new information as well as the most substantial target-specific factors related to the severity of road accidents. T-stat, P-value, Significance and other test values are determined to check the dependency of dependent variable on independent variable in order to obtain the most significant road accident variables. In this research, a comparative analysis of accident data from Hisar and Haryana are compared. According to the findings, Haryana’s accident severity index (46.20) was higher in 2019 than Hisar’s (36.01), while Hisar had fewer accidents per lakh population (33.34) than Haryana (38.40). The outcomes of the study were used to develop an effective and precise accident predicting model is developed for Hisar city and state Haryana using a statistical method. Four models were created using linear regression analysis, two each for Hisar and Haryana. These models produce good results with a margin of error that is within acceptable bounds (0-5%), allowing them to be used to predict future traffic accidents and deaths.
Accident occurring at junctions is a major problem in India. As per the annual report 2019, almost 50% of road accidents in India occurred at junctions. In this study, an attempt has been made to study the safety aspects of minor road junctions on MDR 132 in the Palwal District of Haryana State. The main aims of the present study are to study the safety aspects of minor road junctions on MDR-132 from Nuh to Hodal by analyzing various features of minor road junctions like markings, signs, shoulders, sight distances, lightings, median, etc., and to give suggestions to minimize the accidents. Two types of data were collected. One is from the field, and the other is from registered FIRs. The first one includes pavement width, shoulder width, marking, speed breaker, signs, types of junctions, sight distance, etc. The second one includes hitting and victim vehicle, fatal, grievous and minor injury, visibility, age of the victim, etc. It was observed that the number of accidents is being affected by various road parameters. For example, the number of accidents at uncontrolled junctions is decreasing as pavement width, shoulder width, sight distance, and presence of speed breaker [especially on minor roads] are increasing. Similarly, it was also observed that the number of fatalities decreased as the considered road parameters were increased.
Road accident and road safety are the key global concerns and problem for emerging nations like India. It has been attempted to examine the accidents that happened on Major District Road (MDR) 132 (Nuh to Hodal), India in the last five years. The primary objective of this study was to perform the Road Safety Audit for identification of accident-prone areas based on Accident Severity Index (ASI) and provide some improvement measures in order to lower the frequency and severity of accidents. Identified accident prone locations (blackspots) were ranked according to the ASI index. The distribution of accidents based on various parameters were also discussed. Site visit of critical sections of the road to observe road deficiencies were made and safety recommendations, along with the risk associated with them and priority as per IRC: SP: 88-2019, were suggested.
Road accidents in India are on the rise as the country’s vehicle population grows. As a result, a considerable number of lives and assets have been lost. The formal process for determining causal factors responsible for road accidents in new or improvement of existing road projects without any major modification in the design is known as a road safety audit. This study examines the traffic safety situation on NH-76 from Udaipur to Chittorgarh in the state of Rajasthan, India, intending to identify causal factors responsible for road accidents so that the real damage resulting from road collisions can be reduced to some extent in the future. For this study, a 93.5-kilometer span was chosen and accident data was obtained from the enforcement department via recorded accident FIRs from 2017 to 2019. The accident data was studied to determine the reasons, taking into account yearly, hourly, time-wise, day-wise variation, accident nature-wise, and other factors. Black spots were also identified in the study area and recommendations based on analysis were made to prevent traffic accidents and make the route safer for users. The purpose of this study is to uncover flaws, improve design characteristics, and improve road credibility.
A modern, efficient and reliable payments infrastructure is now an essential requirement for any country looking to promote growing financial markets and improve execution of monetary policy. To attract foreign investments a country must be capable of clearing and settling national as well as international transactions. For implementing such cost effective, comprehensive payment clearing and settlement systems that are java based (platform independent), many payment systems were designed by a company MONTRAN. One main challenge in design of these networks is their vulnerability to security attacks. In this paper, we study the different comprehensive payment systems and comparison between them and how these online payment systems prevent from cyber criminals to steal victim's personal online banking, webmail service and financial service account details.
